The 2023 recipient of the Excellence in Educating Award at Lake Region State College is Peace Officer Training Program Director Lt. John Maritato.  
As the Director of the Peace Officer Training Program for the past 12 years, John is training his 47th academy class this fall.

Future peace officers are ready for the workforce after completing summer academies in Grand Forks and West Fargo.

As Lake Region State College pursues filling its men’s hockey coaching position, Head Women’s Hockey Coach Logan Kraft has stepped up to fill the role on an interim basis. 
LRSC Athletic Director Jared Marshall said Kraft has been naturally filling the men’s team void since May.
