Melissa Moser named Certified Nurse Educator

Lake Region State College Nursing program is pleased to announce that Melissa Moser has earned the designation of Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator®(CNE®cl) after meeting strict eligibility criteria and successfully completing a rigorous certification examination developed and administered by the National League for Nursing (NLN).

Moser, Assistant Professor of Nursing, started her nursing career in 1995 with a diploma in Practical nursing from Northland Community College. In 1999 she completed her Associate Degree also from Northland Community College.

Apprenticeship opportunities grow for LRSC with Department of Labor Agreement

Lake Region State College and the Department of Labor entered into an agreement June 21 officially granting LRSC the ability to host apprenticeships.

Barry Dutton, State Director DOL office of Apprenticeship in Bismarck and LRSC President Doug Darling signed the agreement. 

With this agreement, the Department of Labor recognizes LRSC’s ability to provide apprenticeships in four areas, Dutton said. Those areas are IT Specialist, IT Cyber Support Technician, Electronics Technician, and Electro Mechanical Assembly.

Presidential Scholarships awarded

Area seniors were awarded Presidential Scholarships from Lake Region State College. 

Presidential Scholarships at LRSC are scholarships that equal to full time on-campus tuition and. Students qualify for Presidential Scholarships from showcasing leadership, community involvement, and earning an ACT score of 28 or higher.

New recipients of the scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year are Samantha Overend and Vegas Dale of Midway High School; Rhiannon Giguere of Langdon High School, and Marissa Sluke of Fordville-Lankin High School.
