Testing Services

Lake Region State College (LRSC) Testing Center offers a variety of examinations to meet the needs of our students and also those from the surrounding community. LRSC provides testing for placement, and academic and professional development.

Lake Region State College Test Center is also authorized by Pearson VUE Testing Center able to provide tests for a variety of clients, such as Microsoft, Adobe, Novell, Cisco, and many others. LRSC is an authorized test center for exams listed below. Some of these exams require examinees to register in advance with the sponsoring company.

The ACT® college readiness assessment is a curriculum- and standards-based educational and career planning tool that assesses students' academic readiness for college.

The ACT is the capstone of our College and Career Readiness System. The test uses the same score scale as ACT Explore and ACT Plan, making the system an effective tool to monitor academic progress and student growth.

The GED® test is a second chance to put education first.

The GED® test is your chance to get the job or career you want. The GED® test credential is the only high school equivalency credential recognized in all 50 states.

The battery consists of four tests:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts
  • Science
  • Math
  • Social Studies

The minimum passing score on each test is 145. The highest possible score on each test is 200. GED College Ready with scores from 165-174. GED College Ready + Credit with a score from 175-200.

ACCUPLACER® is a suite of computerized tests that determines your knowledge in math, reading, and writing as you prepare to enroll in college-level courses. The results of the assessment, in conjunction with your academic background, goals, and interests, are used by academic advisors and counselors to place you into a college course that meets your skill level.

testing policies

  • Exams are administered by appointment only and must be made at least 24 hours before an appointment during business hours
  • Photo ID is required upon check-in
  • All cell phones and electronic devices MUST be turned off while in the Testing Center
  • No food or beverages are allowed in the Testing Center
  • Children are not permitted in the Testing Center
  • Books, backpacks, and other materials must be placed away from the test taker
  • Only items designated by the instructor or Testing Center may be used on exams
  • Talking with other test takers is prohibited during testing
  • Cheating is subject to disciplinary action
  • All testing materials and scratch paper must be turned in to the Testing Center upon completion of the exam

*Violation of these policies may result in forfeiture of tests or additional disciplinary actions.
