Precision Ag Center

Investing in the Future of Farming

The 2019 North Dakota Legislature authorized construction of a new $3 million ag education center on LRSC campus grounds which will be the new home for one of our most successful and in-demand programs. Launched in 2014, the Precision Agriculture program is currently housed in a rented facility north of campus. The opportunity to bring the program onto our campus and provide a state-of-the-art center for ag education is an exciting one!

Interest in the program has grown substantially. The Precision Ag Institute ranked our program #10 on its top-20 list citing a combination of hands-on instruction and high-tech programming. Students learn to make field management decisions based on precise technologies. Graduates are students continuing their studies, farmers, or employed by various agri-business services.

The legislation provided an appropriation of $1 million to help make this a reality for our students helping to assure a better, stronger ag program.  Students will be able to move from classroom, to the machinery bay, and directly to the 40-acre test field, eliminating the need to cross a busy highway, and improving program efficiencies.  The legislature, when making the appropriation, requested that the building be named for Curt and Annette Hofstad, long time Lake Region residents and great friends of the Lake Region State College.

The Precision Agriculture Program needs your support to bring the program back to the LRSC campus!

To make the Precision Ag Center a reality, LRSC must raise $1.5 million to access additional state matching funds.

Gifts of any size are needed and appreciated!

Gifts of $2,000 or more will receive special recognition.  Naming opportunities are available to donors who provide larger gifts. This is an exciting time for the Precision Ag program, and we hope that you will join us as we build for the future of agriculture in North Dakota. DONATE NOW!
