About the Community College Foundation

The Community College Foundation supports Lake Region State College -- raising funds to support students through scholarships, program enhancement, and capital projects.  A 27-member board of directors oversees the Foundation. Nurse apprenticeship agreement created

Apprenticeships are becoming a practice in the nursing world. 

The nursing program and apprenticeship program at Lake Region State College (LRSC) have collaborated to create a nursing apprenticeship program. This program is designed to meet workforce needs in North Dakota. Early in 2021, the North Dakota Board of Nursing approved nurse apprentices as an innovative educational model/approach. 

In June, the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford became the first healthcare facility to join into an apprenticeship agreement with Lake Region State College.

Carlson showcased at Lake Region Arts Festival

Lake Region State College art instructor Deb Carlson will showcase her work during the Lake Region Arts Festival taking place in Devils Lake June 19th.

The Arts Festival, which hopes to become an annual event, will showcase art demonstrations throughout the day. Also taking place June 19th is an art show in the Lake Region Heritage Center, street performances, live music, art vendors, wood carvers, chalk art, food trucks, face painting, glass blowing, blacksmithing, pottery, and dance.

SAM graduation rate increases

Lake Region State College recently completed its Student Achievement Measure (SAM) data collection.

The college’s most recent graduation rate calculated for the 2014 cohort with a 6-year time to complete is 64 percent. This is up from 62 percent from the 2013 cohort.
