Butler backs Precision Ag building

Lake Region State College announces receipt of a $50,000 gift from Butler Machinery to help fund the college’s Precision Ag project.

“Butler Machinery Company is proud to invest in the future of ag education in our state.  We believe that agriculture is vital to our economy and we’re happy to support this state-of-the-art facility for students who come through the Hofstad Ag Center at Lake Region State College,” said Twylah Blotsky, president of Butler Machinery.

Raising the curtain

Growing up in Devils Lake, Dr. Louise Fawcett learned that supporting one’s community is important. 

“Community always was top of mind to my family,” Louise Fawcett said. 

She also discovered the importance of having a college in the community and noticed the need it served for the region and state. 

“The College is a cornerstone to the economy and vitality of Devils Lake and the Lake Region from two dimensions.  It is an important employer as well as it educates a labor force that meets local, regional and state needs,” she says.

CenDak Cooperative has donated $30,000 to Lake Region State College’s new ag education building project. 

With the gift comes the opportunity to name one of the office suite areas of the new center.
