Get ready for an electrifying experience! This program will spark curiosity and creativity as campers dive into the fascinating world of renewable energy through fun, hands-on activities. Campers will explore how solar panels turn sunlight into usable power, how battery storage systems keep the lights on, and how basic electricity and magnetism power our world—concepts anyone who's ever flipped a light switch can start to understand! With guidance from renewable energy professionals and college experts, students will experiment with solar panels, wind turbines, and battery systems to see how energy is generated, stored, and used. They'll get up close with real-world technology, including a full-scale operating nacelle, interactive simulators, and a working wind turbine and solar field. Campers will build simple circuits, explore how magnets and motion create electricity, and even dive into beginner-friendly electronics and robotics. Using the Renewable Energy Trainer—equipped with power generation, micro-inverter, battery storage, and solar technology—they’ll get hands-on experience that’s both practical and inspiring. Whether you're curious about how your phone gets charged or you dream of designing tomorrow’s energy solutions, this camp is the perfect place to start!

North Dakota students in grades 10-12 in fall 2025 are eligible to apply.

2025 STEM Camp will be held June 16th - June 19th, 2025.

The camp is FREE funded by NextEra Energy.

This camp is limited to 30 students.
