Lake Region State College Practical Nurse Program Pinning Ceremony

Lake Region State College will hold a pinning ceremony for students completing the Practical Nurse program at 1:00 pm, July 18th in Robert Fawcett Auditorium. More than 50 students are expected to participate in the pinning ceremony.

The Practical Nurse program at LRSC is an 11-month program that provides the knowledge and skills needed to enter a career in nursing.

Refreshments will be available in the lobby of the Bergstrom Technical Center after the pinning, allowing pinned students to celebrate with family and friends. The department will be open for students to give their families a tour of where they have spent most of their time, enjoy conversation, and take pictures.

North Dakota requires that graduates of state-approved practical nurse programs pass a licensing exam before they may practice as Licensed Practical Nurses. Graduates of LRSC's Practical Nurse program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN®). Those who meet continuation criteria may continue their studies in the Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) program at Lake Region State College or transfer many of their credits to baccalaureate programs at other higher education institutions.
