This year around 260 students are eligible to participate in the ceremony, according to the LRSC Registrar’s office. Each year 80 to 120 students participate in the graduation ceremony, and LRSC is expecting a similar turnout this spring. Student speakers for the ceremony include Bronson Chambers of Brampton, Ontario, and Mattyson Ertelt of Devils Lake.
"Graduation is such a wonderful event because the entire campus celebrate student achievement along with their family and friends,” said Erin Wood, LRSC VP of Advancement.
Students participating in the May 16th event have graduated in fall, spring, or summer term. Wood added that this graduation ceremony encompasses all LRSC programs and locations, although some specific programs held separate honorary events.
Established in 1941, Lake Region State College is a comprehensive community college based in Devils Lake, ND. LRSC offers education in a variety of career and technical programs and an associate arts (transfer) degree for those planning to transfer and pursue a bachelor’s degree.
