Lake Region State College is preparing for graduation.

Commencement exercises for Lake Region State College will be held Friday, May 12th, at 10:00 am in the Robert Fawcett Auditorium.

This year around 210 students are eligible to participate in the ceremony, according to the LRSC Registrar’s office.

Each year 80 to 120 students participate in the graduation ceremony and LRSC is expecting a similar turnout this spring.

“After what seems a longer than normal winter, everyone is ready for a festive event like graduation,” said Erin Wood, LRSC Director of College Relations.

As in past years, a pinning ceremony for Associate Degree Nurses will be held at 1:00 pm May 12th in Robert Fawcett Auditorium.  Student nurses from all three site locations will be participating.

The graduation and pinning ceremonies will be live streamed with the link shared to the college Facebook page closer to the event. Overflow rooms will be available should the auditorium reach capacity seating.

Students participating in the May 12th event have graduated in fall, spring, or summer term. Wood added this graduation ceremony encompasses all LRSC programs and locations although some specific programs will hold honorary events.

The Grand Forks Air Force Base campus will participate in a Spring Combined School Commencement Ceremony for all institutions who deliver courses at the Base Education Center. That ceremony will be held at 3:00 pm, April 22 in Grand Forks Central High School Auditorium. Spring Peace Officer graduates will hold their ceremony at 1:00 pm May 4th in Robert Fawcett, and Adult Learning Center graduation is set for the evening of May 30th.

Established in 1941, Lake Region State College is a comprehensive community college based in Devils Lake, ND.  LRSC offers education in a variety of career and technical programs and associate arts (transfer) degree for those planning to transfer and pursue a bachelor’s degree.
