Presidential Scholars named at LRSC

Presidential Scholars recognized at Lake Region State College

The Community College Foundation that supports Lake Region State College recently held a banquet to recognize students named Florence Lake Presidential Scholars at the college.
The Presidential Scholarship is a $4,000/year award offered to first-time, full-time first-year students who earned an ACT score of 28 or higher and also displayed leadership and community involvement in their community and school. 

This year’s recipients include:

•    Dustyn Nelsen of Egeland, ND 
•    Mayson Brown of Hibbing, Minn.
•    Skyler Bergstrom of Grand Forks 
•    Samuel Roberts of Melbourne, Australia
•    Allison Panchot of Jamestown, ND
•    Johnathon Thompson of Driscoll, ND
•    Macale Fischer of Dickinson, ND
•    Dawson Biby of Munich, ND
•    Ryan Boesl of Langdon, ND
•    Holden Gault of Minot, ND

A Presidential Scholarship provides $4,000 per year for two years ($8,000 total). The award is renewable at $2,000 per semester for four sequential semesters to students who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher which is evaluated at the end of spring semester.

Recipients are encouraged to demonstrate leadership skills at LRSC by participating in student leadership activities such as the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Student Senate, Royal Ambassadors, or other approved initiatives.
