It was brought to our attention today that a short video was posted to a private social media account by three students from Lake Region State College. As soon as the students learned from others that the video was viewed negatively, those same students proactively took it down.
Lake Region State College agrees the video is insensitive and in poor taste. We have had numerous conversations with concerned individuals, with the students, and with our athletic personnel in New Town. The students apologized immediately when they learned how others reacted and they understand the sensitive nature of their actions. We are confident that something similar will not reoccur.
The 4 Bears Casino and Resort has proven an exceptional host for the Mon Dak Basketball Tournament for several years in a row and we are excited and privileged to compete in such a great facility and in such a welcoming community. Lake Region State College apologizes to all who were or could have been offended by the contents of the video and will use this as an avenue to educate others. Please accept our sincerest apologies.
