What is College for Kids?
College for Kids is a fun, enriching program, that challenges kids to use their imaginations, ask questions, think creatively, experiment, meet new friends, and experience a taste of college. The courses are designed to be fun and educational. They will be challenging classes with no homework or grades given.
Who can attend?
Kids who have completed Kindergarten through grade five and their skill levels, interests, maturity, and self-reliance are at a level to enjoy a challenging experience.
- The program will run Monday through Thursday, June 21-24, 2021.
- Sessions start promptly; session one: 12:55-2:10 pm; session two: 2:15-3:30 pm; and session three: 3:50-5:05 pm.
- Monday: check-in 12:00-12:45 pm OR at your first session.
- Students are divided into classes by grade completed; Grades K-1-2 or Grades 3-4-5.
- They can choose to attend 1, 2, or all 3 sessions.
- There will be no supervision after 5:15 pm.
Kids, you are responsible for your behavior on campus, and your parents are responsible for your ride both to and from Lake Region State College.
Online registration begins on April 28, 2021, at 10:00 am. No phone registrations.
For each session select a first and second choice for each time slot on the schedule for your grade level completed. Please be careful to select the correct session and grade completed when registering your kid(s). Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis…so register early! Class sizes are limited to 12 students unless noted otherwise.
If you require auxiliary service aid or have food allergies, please notify us when you register.
Fees are $25.00 per class session per student. Full payment is due while registering. Supplies are included in the class fee unless noted otherwise. There may be additional supply fees for some classes. The supply fee payment is due while registering.
Scholarships are available for qualified families. Inquire and register in person at Lake Region State College.
LRSC has adopted a NO REFUND policy for all sessions unless the session is canceled due to low enrollment. The student will then be placed in his/her second choice. If no second choice is indicated or the second choice is not available, we strive to place each student in an acceptable choice. Parents will be contacted by phone or email when a class is canceled.
