What to know about New Student Orientation:

What is new student orientation? It is an event that acquaints new students with each other and Lake Region State College campus. It is a series of different activities that help new students get to know each other and the many different resources available on our campus. These activities may include but are not limited to: games such as paint ball or laser tag, fun performers such as mentalists or hypnotists, club and community fairs, and breakout sessions of the “need to know” new student survival plan.

Why is new student orientation important to attend? This is an opportunity to make new friends while learning about our campus so that new students and first time freshmen do not feel lost in the first week of your first semester.

Who is new student orientation for? It is recommended for all students new to Lake Region State College, but it is mandatory for all Devils Lake campus based first time freshmen living on or off campus.

Living in the Residence Halls? Here are some commonly asked questions to help you:

When can I move in to the residence halls? Your move in date is the day before orientation: 12:00pm, August 24, 2019.

How can I check in? Check-in will begin at 12:00pm on August 24, 2019 at the main entrance of Lake Region State College in the Leever's Welcome Center where you will pick up your keys.

How do I know who my roommate is? In July Lake Region State College will send you a letter in the mail with your room assignment as well as who your roommate will be. This letter will also contain information about the meal plan you chose.

You can also find this information by logging into your Campus Connection account:

  1. Select Self Service
  2. Select On-campus Housing
  3. Select Lake Region State College
  4. At this stage your profile will show up which includes your room assignment, roommates and meal plan.

When does my meal plan start? Meal plans start Orientation Weekend.

When can I buy books? Students may purchase their books and charge them against their student account one week prior to the start of each semester. Fall charging will begin Monday, August 19, 2019.

When do classes start? The Monday of orientation after 4pm. The first full day of classes will be on the Tuesday following orientation.
