Early Childhood Education

Program Description

The Early Childhood Education program at Lake Region State College is designed to prepare students to work with children in a variety of settings.

The two-year Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education helps students to operate nursery schools, become employed by Head Start programs and work as para-professionals in public education classrooms. Along with courses in Early Childhood Education, students complete a variety of courses to fulfill general education requirements and build a solid educational background.

The certificate program is designed as a one year, fast-track program to prepare you for immediate entry-level employment working with young children in group settings such as child care center or for starting a home business as a family child care provider.
