American Sign Language
The Certificate program enhances students' understanding of Deaf culture while developing fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). This program is especially beneficial for those pursuing careers in related fields, including Early Childhood Associate and Nursing.
Participants gain access to a rich sign language environment and valuable resources, including the North Dakota School for the Deaf, which provides unique learning opportunities.
American Sign Language also fulfills Humanities credit requirements. Students who prefer an alternative to traditional History or Art courses can earn academic credit while developing communication skills in ASL.
Hands-on Experience
Students gain practical interpreting skills through real-life experiences in an ASL internship. Those pursuing a degree in ASL will have the opportunity to train with professional interpreters, working directly with Deaf individuals to ensure valuable, hands-on learning.
