APPLY HERE
North Dakota requires graduates of state-approved nursing programs to pass a licensing exam before practicing. Graduates of LRSC’s Practical Nurse program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN®, while Associate Degree Nurse graduates must pass the NCLEX-RN. RN candidates are also required to meet ATI Comp Predictor standards.
These tracks qualify individuals for licensure in North Dakota. Other states may have different requirements. Our curriculum may or may not meet licensure requirements in other states. If you plan to complete an LPN certificate or ADN degree and work elsewhere, check licensure requirements here.
Practical Nurse Certificate (LPN)
The Practical Nurse program at LRSC is an 11-month program that develops the skills needed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Over the course of the program, students receive classroom instruction and complete clinical experiences in various healthcare settings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Associate Degree Nurse (RN)
The Associate Degree Nurse Program welcomes applications from Licensed Practical Nurses. This is a 9-month program, and the admission process varies slightly for current Practical Nurse students and external applicants. Completed applications are reviewed by the Admission Committee, and applicants are notified in writing of their status.
The ADN curriculum provides the knowledge, abilities, and skills needed to practice as a Registered Nurse. It includes adult health, maternal child, community, and psychosocial nursing. Classroom and clinical experiences prepare students to care for individuals and families across the lifespan.
