Early Childhood Associate
The Early Childhood Associate program at Lake Region State College prepares students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work effectively with children in various professional settings.
The two-year Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood prepares students for roles including operating nursery schools, working in Head Start programs, or serving as paraprofessionals in public education classrooms. In addition to specialized courses in early childhood education, students complete a variety of general education courses to establish a well-rounded academic foundation.
The certificate program, designed as a one-year, fast-track option, provides students with the essential skills and knowledge needed for immediate entry-level employment. Graduates are prepared to work with young children in group settings, including child care centers, or to start their own family child care business.
DISCLAIMER: The LRSC Early Childhood Associate program offers a two-year associate degree. This degree qualifies individuals to work in early childhood settings; however, a bachelor’s degree is required to become a licensed early childhood teacher in North Dakota. Licensing requirements vary by state. Review the licensure requirements if you plan to pursue employment in another state.
