What is Dual Credit?
Dual Credit, also known as Early Entry, gives high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors the chance to enroll in college courses. When students complete a course, they may also earn high school credit for it.

Complete the online Lake Region State College Application. If you have not applied to Lake Region before, there is a $35 application fee.
- Complete a Dual Credit Registration form and FERPA form. These forms will be given to your high school administrator (principal, counselor, or dual credit coordinator) and should be completed with their guidance.
If you are a homeschool student or want to take early entry courses, please contact Colden Hutton to receive a form.
- Provide Lake Region State College with an updated high school transcript
- For students taking an English or math course, a qualifying test score must be provided.

All Lake Region State dual credit/early entry students will need to claim their NDUS account to access their course(s).

Under Your NDUS Account, choose ‘Click here for the following NDUS Account information.’ Scroll down to ‘NDUS Account’
- Claim My Account
- Watch the short video and click on ‘Claim your NDUS Account’
- Fill in EMPLID and Birthdate (EMPLID is included in an email from LRSC or from your school dual credit administrator)
- Complete the Acceptable Use Quiz.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

- View your tuition/fee charges.
- Tuition is due 12 days after the semester begins. Tuition can be paid in person, via phone, mail, or through Campus Connection.

If you need to drop your dual credit/early entry course(s) at any time during the semester, you must notify your high school and Lake Region State College via email to Colden Hutton as soon as possible. Attached is the last day to add/drop as well as refund percentages as needed. (link in last day to add/drop and refund percentages)

Dual credit and early entry students are responsible for covering the cost of their own textbooks. Please visit the LRSC Bookstore website to order textbooks online.

NDUS ND-Dual-Credit Tuition Scholarship
NDUS ND-Dual-Credit Tuition Scholarship
The Dual-Credit Tuition Scholarship rewards students for completing dual-credit coursework in high school. Awards range from $250 to $750 depending on the number of dual-credit courses completed. Learn more here.
For consideration, a ND resident student must:
- Have graduated from high school in this state, or a high school in a bordering state under N.D.C.C. ch. 15.1-29; or have graduated from a nonpublic high school in a bordering state while residing with a custodial parent in this state; or have completed a program of home education under N.D.C.C. ch. 15.1-23.
- Have successfully completed, defined as a minimum grade of D, at least one dual credit course provided by a public, private or tribal institution with a physical presence in the state.
- Be enrolled in a certificate or degree program at an accredited public, private or tribal institution of higher education with a physical presence in the state.
- Completed at least one semester, quarter or term at a accredited public, private or tribal institution.

The Bank of North Dakota (BND) Dual Credit Assistance Program offers financial support to eligible North Dakota high school students enrolled in dual credit courses. Assistance may cover costs such as tuition, fees, and books. Learn more here.
