About the program
The LRSC Apprenticeship Program combines classroom learning with paid, hands-on experience. In partnership with select employers and the Department of Labor, this program follows federal apprenticeship standards, providing a direct pathway to a career.
How It Works:
- Apprentices work 16–20 hours per week while attending classes and earning their degree.
- Employer sponsors cover most college expenses.
- Apprentices commit to working for their sponsoring company for a specified period, as outlined in their contract.
To earn a Department of Labor Apprenticeship Certificate, students must complete on-the-job training hours—typically around 2,000 hours. These hours do not need to be completed before graduation, but they must be fulfilled to receive the certificate. Apprentices can still earn their degree and take industry exams beforehand.
This program provides real-world experience, financial support, and a direct path to a career.
