The State Board of Higher Education named Dr. Carmen Simone as the permanent president at Lake Region State College (LRSC). Simone has been interim president at LRSC since July 1, 2025.

Lake Region State College has surpassed 1,900 students this fall, a figure it hasn’t seen since before the COVID pandemic.

Lake Region State College recently donated 20 boxes of textbooks to Books for Africa. 

The rising cost of college tuition is a significant concern for both students and their families. 

There is a new executive in the president’s office at Lake Region State College, and she is no stranger to North Dakota or higher education.
