Testing Services at LRSC

Lake Region State College Testing Center offers a variety of exams for students and the surrounding community. LRSC provides testing for placement, academic, and professional development.

The Test Center is authorized by Pearson VUE and offers exams for clients like Microsoft, Adobe, Novell, Cisco, and others. Some exams require advance registration with the sponsoring company.

ACT

The ACT® college readiness assessment evaluates students’ academic preparedness for college and supports educational and career planning.

The ACT is the capstone of our College and Career Readiness System. The test uses the same score scale as ACT Explore and ACT Plan. This makes is an effective tool to monitor academic progress and student growth.

GED (High School Equivalency)

The GED® test is a second chance to put education first.

The GED® test is your chance to get the job or career you want. The GED® test credential is the only high school equivalency credential recognized in all 50 states.

The battery consists of four tests:

  • Reasoning through Language Arts
  • Science
  • Math
  • Social Studies

The minimum passing score on each test is 145. The highest possible score on each test is 200. GED College Ready with scores from 165-174. GED College Ready + Credit with a score from 175-200.

ACCUPLACER (College Placement)

Register Now

ACCUPLACER® is a set of computerized tests measuring math, reading, and writing skills for college-level course placement. Advisors use your results, academic background, goals, and interests to place you in courses matching your skill level.

Pearson VUE

Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers are private, third-party facilities providing on-site, on-demand testing for certification and professional licensure exams.

Pearson VUE develops tests, manages data, and delivers exams through a secure network in over 175 countries. It is part of Pearson, an international education company that includes the Financial Times, Pearson Education, and Penguin Group.

TOEFL (Test of English as  Foreign Language)

About the TOEFL iBT Test

The TOEFL iBT® test, administered online, measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. It evaluates how well you integrate listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills to complete academic tasks.

In addition to the test, ETS offers resources to help you prepare and improve your English.

Fees range from $160–$250 USD, depending on your country. Check your test location for exact pricing and registration details.

ASE (Automotive Service Excellence)

LRSC can help you get ASE Certified

LRSC has partnered with Prometric to become a satellite testing site for ASE testing.

CLEP (College Equivalency)

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) lets you earn college credit for what you already know at a fraction of course cost. Developed by the College Board, CLEP is widely accepted at over 2,900 colleges and universities. Passing any of the 33 CLEP exams helps you achieve your college and career goals.

Testing Hours

Exams are offered by appointment only, typically on select days each month. Most require scheduling at least 24 hours in advance during business hours.

Testing Policies

  • Exams are administered by appointment only and must be made at least 24 hours before an appointment during business hours
  • Photo ID is required upon check-in
  • All cell phones and electronic devices MUST be turned off while in the Testing Center
  • No food or beverages are allowed in the Testing Center
  • Children are not permitted in the Testing Center
  • Books, backpacks, and other materials must be placed away from the test taker
  • Only items designated by the instructor or Testing Center may be used on exams
  • Talking with other test takers is prohibited during testing
  • Cheating is subject to disciplinary action
  • All testing materials and scratch paper must be turned in to the Testing Center upon completion of the exam

*Violation of these policies may result in forfeiture of tests or additional disciplinary actions.
