Education Pathway

Every student remembers the teacher who believed in them. Great educators do more than teach—they spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students see what is possible. If you want to make a difference in the lives of students, the Education Pathway at Lake Region State College gives you a place to begin.

Start Here. Grow Here. Go Anywhere.

From your first semester through transfer, you'll work with faculty advisors who help you stay on track, explore your interests, and prepare for what's next.

Help Shape the Future, One Student at a Time

Teaching is about more than knowing a subject. It is about knowing how to reach people, create belonging, and help learners grow. In this pathway, you’ll begin learning how to:

  • Understand how children and adolescents learn, develop, and experience the world
  • Communicate ideas clearly and connect with learners from different backgrounds
  • Create supportive environments where students feel known, challenged, and capable
  • Recognize individual strengths, needs, and the many ways students learn
  • Explore the responsibility, creativity, and human connection at the heart of teaching

You do not need to have every grade level or subject figured out. You only need the commitment to help students discover what they can become.
