Biology Pathway

Biology is the study of life—how living things grow, function, adapt, interact, and change. If you are curious about the natural world, interested in how life works, and drawn to questions that can lead to new discoveries, the Biology Pathway at Lake Region State College is built for you.

Start Here. Grow Here. Go Anywhere.

From your first semester through transfer, you'll work with faculty advisors who help you stay on track, explore your interests, and prepare for what's next.

Discover the Living World

Biology is about more than memorizing facts. It's about learning how to:

  • Understand living systems from cells and organisms to populations and ecosystems
  • Ask questions about health, heredity, adaptation, and the environment
  • Examine evidence through observation, experimentation, and scientific analysis
  • Think critically, solve problems, and communicate scientific ideas clearly
  • Connect ideas across biology, chemistry, mathematics, psychology, and more

Associate of Science with a Biology Transfer Pathway

Build a Foundation for What Comes Next

The Biology Pathway leads to an Associate of Science degree with a structured 60-credit plan that develops scientific reasoning, critical thinking, quantitative skills, communication, and a broad academic foundation while preparing you to transfer to a bachelor's program.

You'll complete the broad requirements of the Associate of Science degree while beginning coursework that supports the study of living systems and the natural world. Depending on your goals and course availability, your pathway may include study in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Physics, Psychology, and related life and health sciences.

Where This Pathway Can Lead

At LRSC, you'll build the knowledge and scientific skills to explore living systems, investigate new questions, and take what you learn into whatever comes next.

Explore the Living World

Build your understanding of cells, organisms, ecosystems, and the processes that make life possible while exploring how living systems grow, adapt, and interact.
