Lake Region State College announces the adoption of a new dean model, strengthening academic leadership in three vital areas: the Career & Technical Education Division, the Academic Division, and the Nursing & Allied Health Division.

This change marks an exciting chapter for our college, underscoring our commitment to student success and community growth, said Dr. Carmen Simone, LRSC President.

“We’re thrilled to recognize three outstanding members of our LRSC team as they step into new roles. There was a strong desire to have academic leadership come from within.
It’s inspiring to see our campus invest in its own talent, providing trusted guides for students and faculty alike,” Simone said.

The deans will be working closely with President Simone and Jade Erickstad, Director of Academic Affairs, to ensure LRSC courses, programs, and people continue to grow and thrive.

Through their collaboration and guidance, Lake Region State College will continue to be a place where students, faculty, and staff feel welcomed and supported, ensuring the college remains a vibrant hub for academic and personal growth.

Maritato has been a dedicated leader of the LRSC Peace Officer Training Program since 2012. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Mayville State University, a Peace Officer Training certificate from LRSC, and a career and technical teaching credential.  His passion for Career & Technical Education (CTE) shines through in his work to keep programs current, compliant, and connected to local employers.

“In this role instructional quality will continue to be a priority along with employer and advisory board engagement,” he said.

Dr. Loretta Wangler – Dean of Nursing & Allied Health
Dr. Wangler brings expertise and heart to the Nursing & Allied Health Division. Her leadership will help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals, supporting students as they serve our region. Wangler earned her doctorate in Healthcare Leadership and Management, a Bachelor of Science (University of Texas at Arlington), and an Associate of Science (LRSC) in 2025 from Colorado Technical University. She also earned a Master of Science (Colorado Technical University), Bachelor of Science (University of Texas at Arlington), and Associate of Science (LRSC) degrees in Nursing.

"My goal is to continue growing the exceptional team of educators within this division, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and resilience that prepares students to meet the evolving needs of healthcare.”

Greg Wolf – Dean of Academic Programs
Greg Wolf will lead the Academic Division, fostering excellence in instruction and scholarship across LRSC. Wolf is recognized as a teacher and mentor specializing in character development, enhancing group dynamics, and facilitating communication for idea initiation/goal realization. Wolf earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Illinois State University and his Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Dubuque, Iowa.

“My desire to assist and truly engage with our students and faculty, as well as our community, to grow in character, awareness, and understanding, aligns perfectly with LRSC’s themes of dynamic development, integrity/tradition, and student-centered teaching,” Wolf said.

Together, the dean leadership team reflects LRSC’s unwavering commitment to excellence in education, professional development, and community engagement.

“As each division moves ahead under the guidance of these Deans, LRSC remains well positioned to shape the future and make a lasting impact throughout the region,” Simone said.
