Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP)

About CAAP

Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) is a set of standardized tests developed to measure students’ achievement levels. The CAAP test measures students’ attainment of their general education core skills and learning.

The CAAP test is administered in the Fall and Spring each year. Lake Region State College uses four exams: writing skills, reading, mathematics, and science. Each student is randomly given two of the four tests.

Associate in Arts or Science graduates must complete the CAAP exam to receive a transcript. Liberal arts majors transferring after three full-time semesters or 40 part-time credits must also complete the exam.
