TRiO & PowerSkills Services
TRiO & PowerSkills Services
The TRiO/PowerSkills staff includes three advisors who support a diverse student population. They provide mentoring and individualized action plans to guide students through their associate degrees. Advisors also assist with choosing a major and career, transfer planning, and visits to four-year institutions in North Dakota.
TRiO/PowerSkills students may request free tutoring after full admission to the program. A separate application is required, along with specific student responsibilities.
Advisors and tutors coordinate weekly group study labs based on student requests. Labs may cover math, chemistry, writing, or psychology, depending on the semester.
Students are encouraged to complete financial literacy training as part of their study plan. One-on-one help is also available for FAFSA completion and taxes.
Students in good standing may request calculators, laptops, or textbooks on a first-come, first-served basis. The Student Success Center also offers computers, printing, and study space.
The Disability Services Coordinator provides accommodations for students who submit documentation. Services may include alternative testing, note-taking support, priority seating, and assistive technology.
