Economics Pathway

Every choice has consequences. Economics helps us understand why people make the choices they do, how resources move, why communities grow, and how decisions made today shape the opportunities of tomorrow. If you are curious about how the world works and eager to solve problems that matter, the Economics Pathway at Lake Region State College is built for you.

Start Here. Grow Here. Go Anywhere.

From your first semester through transfer, you’ll work with faculty advisors who help you stay on track, explore your interests, and prepare for what comes next.

The Future Belongs to Problem Solvers.

Economics is about more than money, markets, or charts. It is a way of asking better questions about people, choices, and possibility. In this pathway, you’ll learn how to:

  • Explore how individuals, businesses, governments, and communities make decisions
  • Understand how incentives, scarcity, trade, and policy influence everyday life
  • Use data and evidence to recognize patterns and evaluate competing ideas
  • Examine why some communities and industries grow while others face challenges
  • Think critically about complex problems and communicate practical solutions
