Lake Region State College HEERF Act Quarterly Report – 6.30.2021

Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act Student Grant

  • LRSC signed and returned the Certification and Agreement to the Department of Education on April 17, 2020.

  • LRSC received $104,937 from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

  • As of 6/30/2021 LRSC has distributed $104,937 to 210 students.

In order to prioritize student with exceptional need, LRSC ran a list on March 1st identifying 175 students enrolled for spring 2021 receiving Pell grant. On March 4, 2021 the LRSC CRRSAA Committee met to approve the awarding process.  Those identified students were awarded a block grant of $500. The remaining amount of funds was opened to an application for students who have incurred at least $500 in emergency costs. Eligible students must have a valid 2020-2021 FAFSA submitted, must be a degree seeking student enrolled in at least 3 credits.

Pell grant students were notified via email on 3.26.2021:

Students:

Lake Region State College has been awarded a grant through the Coronavirus Response & Relief Supplemental (CRRSA) Act. Funds from this grant are available to students who have:

  1. completed a 20-21 FAFSA and
  2. are enrolled in at least 3 credits

Funds are to be used for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as: tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health), or childcare.

Institutions are required to prioritize these grants to students with exceptional need. LRSC has identified students who completed the FAFSA by March 1st and were eligible for pell grant. Since you are receiving pell grant you have been awarded $500 in covid relief funds from this grant.  
These funds will be available by check or direct deposit (whichever method you have on file with the business office).  If you would like to apply these funds to your bill at LRSC, please contact the business office: 701-662-1567.

  1. completed a 20-21 FAFSA and
  2. are enrolled in at least 3 credits

If you have emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as: tuition, food, housing, health care
(including mental health), or childcare please complete the application HERE.

Funding is available on a first come, first serve basis.

American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act’s Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund
(HEERF III)

  • LRSC received $883,383 from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

  • As of June 30, 2021 LRSC has distributed $50,000 to 50 students

In order to prioritize student with exceptional need, LRSC distributed a block grant of $1,000 to students receiving Pell grant who were enrolled by June 12, 2021. Eligible students must have been enrolled, degree seeking students, by June 12, 2021.  

Pell grant students were notified via email on 6.24.2021:

Lake Region State College has been awarded a grant through The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III) authorized by the American Rescue Plan (ARP). Institutions are required to prioritize grants to students with exceptional financial need, such as those who receive Pell Grants.

Funds are to be used for:

  • any component of your cost of attendance
  • emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as: tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental) & childcare.

Since you have been awarded Pell grant and were enrolled for summer term as of June 12, 2021, you have been awarded $1,000 in covid relief funds from this grant.
