Nursing students do well at competition

This year, Lake Region State College started a HOSA chapter. HOSA stands for Health Occupations Students of America, although it is now more commonly referred to as HOSA-Future Health Professionals.

Two students recently participated in the area competition and earned high honors:

Janessa DeWall placed 1st Place Medical Terminology. Tawny Mason placed 2nd in Medical Math.

They have qualified to compete in the International Convention in Houston, Texas, June 2024.

HOSA is a new organization on campus for all individuals interested in a career in Health Care, said advisor Megan Sylling.

"This organiztion is open to multiple students, not only for those in nursing," Sylling said.

The Mission of HOSA ND is to encourage North Dakota HOSA-Future Health Professionals to develop skills, commit to learning, and become thriving healthcare leaders in North Dakota Communities.
