Brady Stein named Head Men's Hockey Coach

Brady Stein, interim head men’s hockey coach at Lake Region State College, will lead the men’s hockey program now and into the future as its head coach.

LRSC Athletics Director Jared Marshall said Stein has been an integral part to the program.

“We are excited to remove the interim tag from Brady. He has helped us navigate our inaugural season as an assistant and as the Interim Head Coach. He has consistently impressed me with his leadership, organization, and ability to connect with our players,” Marshall said.

Stein, a Devils Lake native, brings three years of coaching experience with the Bantam A’s, achieving a state championship in their first year.

“He has a strong connection to the Devils Lake Hockey Community and North Dakota as a whole. We believe that those connections will be invaluable as he moves forward as our Head Coach,” Marshall adds.

Alongside his coaching role, he also founded White Knights CrossFit six years ago, steadily growing its athlete community. Additionally, Stein has been the strength and conditioning coach for LRSC Athletic programs for four years, including three years with the youth hockey teams.

“We are off to a strong start as a program and having Brady as our head coach will provide us with the ability to retain the core of our current roster. It will also allow our program to have a direction, so that we can continue to find success in recruiting moving forward.”

This is the first season of LRSC ice hockey. Programs compete in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) Division II. The ACHA men’s side is comprised of 190 schools in four regions. On the ACHA women’s side, 58 teams make up three regions.

With the addition of men’s & women’s hockey, Lake Region State College now offers five NJCAA sports & four club sports.
