Lake Region State College is making preparations for its Fall 2020 semester in light of the COVID-19 situation.

LRSC Fall 2020 COVID-19 Information

Attention new students! This year, the books are on LRSC.

Lake Region State College announces a new textbook scholarship for students from the area attending the Devils Lake-based college.

Many students in the region have selected LRSC, but others who planned on attending college elsewhere may be rethinking their plans.

One thing administration and staff at Lake Region State College didn’t want to see was students taking a year off college when LRSC is right here and able to accommodate student needs. That’s where the idea of supporting students with their book costs at the LRSC Bookstore. The Community College Foundation that supports LRSC made the Textbook Scholarship a reality.

“Lake Region State College has always been here for students. At LRSC, you have a world of opportunity in your back yard and can start your college experience here,” said LRSC President Doug Darling.
Area students from qualifying communities who enroll as a full-time degree seeking student may be eligible for a $500 Bookstore Buck award.

At Lake Region State College, the first two years of a bachelor’s degree are available on campus or online. The largest class is around 40 students with most much smaller.

“Our credits transfer smoothly thanks to the articulation/transfer agreements with colleges and universities,” Darling said.

Attending LRSC for the start of your bachelor’s degree also creates a big cost savings. Staying home and commuting to Lake Region State College for the first half of your bachelor’s degree can save you big bucks (we’re talking up to $20,000)

LRSC’s career and technical programs will have you work ready in two years or less in fields needing employees now here and throughout the region/state/nation, such as auto technology, nursing, precision agriculture, and more.

*Award spans over the fall and spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year with $250 to purchase books and supplies at LRSC Bookstore Fall 2020 and $250 Spring 2021.
