Campus Safety and Security

The safety and security of the campus community is of vital importance to Lake Region State College. LRSC accepts its responsibility to employ security measures and provide information on the prevention and reporting of crimes. Creating a safe and secure campus is a shared responsibility. The active involvement of the entire campus community – students, families, employees, visitors – in their own personal safety and the safety of their neighbors will help keep our campus safe and a desirable place to work, live and learn.

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is prepared in compliance with the Clery Act. It provides information related to campus security and safety including crime statistics, policies and procedures, and other information designed to inform students, employees and visitors about prevention of crimes and how to respond if a crime occurs. Included in this report are three years of reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings, or on property owned or controlled by LRSC, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

Daily Crime Log

The Daily Crime Log includes all criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that occurred within the LRSC campus Clery geography that were reported to LRSC security personnel, LRSC Police Department, or Devils Lake Police Department. The log is arranged in chronological order and includes the date and time the crime was reported, the date and time the crime occurred, the location of the crime, the nature of the crime, and the disposition of the complaint, if known.

The crime log is updated within two business days of a crime being reported by the Director of Institutional Effectiveness. The log represents the most recent 60-day period. Any portion of the log older than 60 days will be made available within two business days of a request for public inspection. Contact the Director of Institutional Effectiveness at 701/662-1509 to make a request for public inspection.

LRSC’s requirement to maintain a crime log went into effect on December 5, 2016, when LRSC President Doug Darling established the LRSC Police Department. In addition to the LRSC Police Department, the College also has an MOU with the Devils Lake Police Department dated August 23, 2017.
