Human Relations in Organizations (PSYC 100) - 3 credits Study of building effective, successful work and social relationships. Topics covered include the impact of personal and organizational values, motivation, self-awareness, goal setting, conflict management, communications, and stress management. Fall and Spring semester.
Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 111) - 3 credits Basic ideas, concepts, and perspectives of psychology. Course enables student to pursue upper level psychology courses. Fall, Spring, and Summer semester.
Educational Psychology (PSYC 230) - 3 credits The application of psychology principles of development; perception and learning; and motivation to contemporary educational problems, classroom management, planning and effective teaching, student testing and evaluation, and parent/home issues. Prerequisite PSYC 111 & 250.
Developmental Psychology (PSYC 250) - 3 credits Study of human development from a life-span perspective, an on-going process from conception to death. Physical, cognitive, social, and personality changes examined throughout the life cycle. Prerequisite: PSYC 111. Spring and Summer semester.
Abnormal Psychology (PSYC 270) - 3 credits Multidimensional approach to study of mental disorders using the most current diagnostic information such as the DSM-IV. Symptomatology, etiology, diagnosis, causes, and treatment of mental disorders emphasized. Spring and Summer semester.
Special Topics (PSYC 299) - 1-3 credits Small group instruction in various aspects of psychology and its influence on human relationships. Approval of instructor.
