Program Entry Requirements

The Associate Degree Nurse Program welcomes applications from Licensed Practical Nurses. The process duffers slightly for individual currently enrolled in the Practical Nurse Program and external applicants. The Admission Committee reviews all completed applications; incomplete applications are not reviewed. Applicants will be notified in writing of their acceptance status.

For students currently enrolled in the Practical Nurse Program:


  1. Submit a letter of intent stating your desire to continue studies in the Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) Program.
    Deadline: March 4, 2009
  2. Complete all requirements for admission to the program outlined in the Nursing Program Application Packet.

For individuals who are currently Licensed Practical Nurses and are not enrolled in the LRSC Practical Nurse Program:
  1. Complete Application for Admission to LRSC as a degree-seeking student

  2. Complete all requirements for admission to Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) Program as outlined in the Nursing Program Application Packet, including:

    • a letter of intent summarizing past work experiences and reasons for seeking entry into the ADN Program;
    • three letters of reference;
    • proof of completion of the following with a grade of C or better and combined GPA of 2.75 or better:

    • ENGL 110 College Composition I
    • CHEM 115 Introduction to Chemistry
    • PSYC 111 Introduction to Psychology
    • PSYC 250 Developmental Psychology
    • BIOL 220 Anatomy and Physiology I
    • BIOL 221 Anatomy and Physiology II
    • PHRM 215 Intro to Pharmacology
      (completed not more than five years before admission to ADN Program).
