Program Features

LRSC's Diesel Technology program will teach you the theory of diesel engine operation along with the latest repair and diagnostic procedures available in the diesel industry. Designed to prepare you for entry into diesel mechanical repair occupations across the nation, this program's emphasis is on semi-tractors and earth moving equipment repair and repair and maintenance of agricultural equipment.

The Diesel Technology program allows students to earn either the Diploma or the Associate in Applied Science degree.  The AAS Degree includes general education requirements to broaden your education. Both options prepare you for a challenging career in Diesel Technology industry. View the curriculum guide.

Hands-on experience

While in the program you will get extensive training and practical experience in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, heating and air conditioning, brake alignment and advanced engine rebuild. Along with classroom instruction, you will spend the majority of your time in the shop, working on real life projects.

Quality Instruction

Lake Region State College's Auto and Diesel Technology Instructors are experienced with various engines, including Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, Navistar, and have extensive training in Cummins engine repair. Our instructors worked for many years in the diesel industry before joining the LRSC faculty. We know what is needed in the industry and we will help you reach your educational and career goal.

Financial Matters

Take advantage of Lake Region State College "one-price" advantage! We offer in-state tuition for both in-state and out-of-state students.

Diesel Technology students, carrying heavier course loads, save even more with tuition and fees capped at 12 and 16 credits respectfully, so credits earned beyond caps are free.

Starter Toolbox Scholarship
Each year Lake Region State College awards starter toolboxes to the first five Diesel Technology students who complete the LRSC admission application and Toolbox Scholarship application. The toolboxes become the property of the students upon their successful completion of the program.
