In the classroom
Prepare for the future

Prepare for or enhance your career in Law Enforcement…online or in a traditional classroom setting! The Law Enforcement program at Lake Region State College is designed to fit the busy schedules of today's students. For those of you with work hours that vary from day to day, family life and other time-demanding responsibilities, online learning is an excellent option.

LRSC's Law Enforcement program is right for you if you are currently employed in the field, if you are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or if you are starting your way to a Bachelor's degree. The program will help you succeed in a variety of law enforcement positions and will give you a solid background to further your education.

Program Requirements

To receive an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Law Enforcement students must complete 38 semester credit hours of approved academic courses and complete the Peace Officer Training Program for a total of 60 semester credits. All classroom coursework (except Peace Officer Training) can be completed online or on either one of our campuses - in Devils Lake, ND or Grand Forks AFB.

Career Path

Become employed as a police officer, deputy sheriff, or launch a career in one of many law enforcement fields! The studies show that the Associate degree is a common requirement for entrance and advancement in the law enforcement field.

2005 Job Service North Dakota statistics show that there were 220 jobs available in the law enforcement field in the state of North Dakota and over 31,000 jobs were available nationwide.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts faster than average growth for law enforcement professionals through 2012.
