Quality Education
The Automotive Technology Program at Lake Region State College is student centered. You will begin the program at individual mastery levels and continue learning at your own pace.
Auto Technology program at LRSC is nationally certified by NATEF (National Automotive Education Foundation), which ensures that instruction is provided by qualified faculty, with proper tools and equipment and up-to-date curriculum.
LRSC offers a one-year certificate, a two-year diploma, and a two-year Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Automotive Technology.
The AAS in Auto Technology has recently became a transfer degree. Once you have earned AAS degree, you may transfer to baccaulaureate program, which will prepare you for managerial and/or instructional positions. In North Dakota, bachelor programs are offered at Mayville State University and Valley City State University.

Outstanding Instruction
LRSC's Auto and Diesel Technology faculty are top-notch, ASE-certified, award-winning instructors. They regularly attend conferences and training sponsored by GM, Ford, and Chrysler to keep up to date on technology. They also have received education at the General Motors Training Center and Ford Training Center.
Our instructors worked in the industry for many years before joining LRSC faculty. Their hands-on approach to teaching makes them available to work with you one-on-one and give you the most attention possible.

• Graduates of the LRSC Automotive Technology Program work in a variety of fields in the automotive industry including automotive dealerships, independent shops, and service centers.
• 2005 Job Service North Dakota statistics show there were 580 jobs available in the automotive technology field.
• US Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts 10 to 20 percent growth for occupations in Automotive Technology and shows the need for additional 319,000 additional employees nationwide by 2012. Average salary of Automotive Technology graduates is $32,610.
• Follow-up studies indicate that 100 percent of LRSC Automotive Technology graduates found employment.

Hands-on Experiece - As an Automotive Technology student, you will spend a majority of your time working on real life projects. Your typical day would include 6 hours of instruction with one to two hours of the day spent in the classroom and the remainder spent in the shop.
Advanced Classes - Customize your education! Program is build in flexibility that allows you to progress at your own pace. Work close with your instructor and choose special topics classes to work on the projects that interest you the most.

Financial Matters
Take advantage of Lake Region State College "one-price" advantage! We offer in-state tuition for both in-state and out-of-state students.
Auto Technology students, carrying heavier course loads, save even more with tuition and fees capped at 12 and 16 credits respectfully, so credits earned beyond caps are free.
Starter Toolbox: Apply early, Receive Scholarship
Each year starter toolboxes are awarded to the first five Automotive Technology students who complete the admission and Toolbox Scholarship application forms. The toolboxes become the property of the students upon their successful completion of the program.
