Auto and Diesel Technology Programs at LRSC by Pat Hejlik Posted on 12/20/2006 Have you ever found yourself with car problems and not know where to go? Is your check engine light on? Is your car in need of a little TLC? Where can we as students find help at a reasonable price? The Automotive Technology students in the Erlandson Building are ready, willing and able to help you out. You do not have to be in the Automotive Technology program to have your vehicle worked on. The Automotive Technology students have access to diagnostic equipment and tools just like the service shops they will be working in when they graduate from LRSC. Working on vehicles with various problems gives students an excellent opportunity to diagnose the problems that occur outside of the classroom and also gives the students experience with customer relations. They can repair your vehicle, from something as small as a taillight that is out to overhauling your engine. The only job they do not do is exhaust work. They will do the work as it fits into their curriculum. No problem is to large or to small for these guys to tackle. Rick McAllister and Randy Olson are the instructors. Both can be reached at 662-1558. There is also the Diesel Technology program on the other side of the shop. Layne Roloff is the instructor. You can reach him at 662-1559. The work on this side of the shop is a little different then the automotive side. Over here they work on heavy equipment such as semi trucks and tractors. Students have access to diagnostic equipment and tools. They also work on vehicles that students have or from the surrounding community. |
