On April 16th Lake Region State College Men’s basketball coaches and players will be helping put on a youth boys and girls basketball camp at Sweetwater Elementary School.

The camp will help teach youth players the fundamentals of shooting, ball handling, footwork, offense and defense of basketball. The activities in the camp is in an atmosphere that will help to encourage youth to enjoy the game of basketball, said Jared Marshall, LRSC Head Men’s Basketball Coach.

Marshall is having the camp sessions in the morning from 9:30 am until Noon. This camp is for kids in grades 1 through 5 for the
2015-2016 school year. Students should come with either basketball or gym shoes or basketball attire (shorts and a t-shirt).

“This is an opportunity for kids to learn more about the game and have fun. We want the kids to be excited and ready to learn skills and fundamentals of basketball,” Marshall said.

This camp cost $35 for a single child. The cost includes the instruction from the coaches and players and the camp T-shirt. Any families that are putting more than one child in the camp will pay $30.

If you have any questions about the camp you can contact Jared Marshall at (701) 662-1523 or by email at Jared.Marshall@lrsc.edu.
