AAUW Scholarship Luncheon to Feature Assistant United States Attorney


The Devils Lake branch of the American Association of University Women is excited to announce that Devils Lake native, Jennifer Klemetsrud Puhl, will be the featured speaker for the 2015 AAUW Scholarship Luncheon.

Ms. Puhl, daughter of Jay and Jeanne Klemetsrud, is an Assistant United States Attorney in Fargo, North Dakota. For the past nine years, Jennifer has served as the North Dakota coordinator for Project Safe Childhood (PSC), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating the sexual exploitation of children.  As the PSC coordinator, she prosecutes the technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children to include child prostitution, child pornography, sexual extortion, and other child exploitation crimes.  She has also worked very hard to obtain restitution for victims of child pornography offenses.

The luncheon will be held Thursday, March 19 in the Dining Center at Lake Region State College.  A buffet lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Ms. Puhl speaking at 12:15 pm on "Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking--The North Dakota Experience."

The American Association of University Women is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Begun in 1881, AAUW has nearly 100,000 members and a nationwide community that includes 1,000 branches.
