Lake Region State College held a pinning ceremony for its practical nurse students July 10. Nineteen students completed the practical nurse program in Devils Lake.

The nursing program at Lake Region State College is part of the Dakota Nursing Program, which was created in 2004. The Dakota Nursing Program’s mission and vision is to respond to the nursing needs of the people of North Dakota by delivering a high-quality nursing educational program to students through innovative instruction. The Dakota Nursing Program includes Bismarck State College, Lake Region State College, Dakota College at Bottineau, and Williston State College.

At LRSC students can enroll in the one-year practical nurse program and two-year associate degree nurse (2-year RN) program.  The program reaches students with a combination of face-to-face lab/clinical classes and video networking at sites across the state to educate future nurses.

Lake Region State College has offered nursing education at a distance to Langdon, Grafton, Cooperstown, Carrington, and Northwood in the past. Lake Region State College currently offers its practical nurse and associate degree nurse (RN) programs at its campus in Devils Lake and in Mayville. The practical nurse pinning also is offered in Grand Forks.
