Officials at Lake Region State College celebrated construction of its new educational space with a ribbon cutting ceremony Spetember 24.
The new Technical Education Center – which opened August 26 – will prepare students for careers as nurses, police officers, auto technicians, wind energy technicians, simulator technicians, and specialists for current and emerging industries.
Since last October construction crews have been busy erecting the new Technical Education Center building and renovating some current space. The new area has transformed the look of the campus, said Dr. Doug Darling, LRSC President.
“The new space will relieve crowding, strengthen programs, and allow LRSC to serve more students,” he said.
The space also fortifies the college’s place as a nimble education center, innovative facility, and teaching/learning powerhouse.
The project was made possible with legislative appropriation in 2013.
