By Erin WoodThe average age of students at Lake Region State College dropped dramatically during a special event this July.
More than 140 kids in grades 1-7 attended College for Kids at Lake Region State College July 14-17.
The program challenges kids to use their imaginations, ask questions, think creatively, experiment, meet new friends and experience a taste of college. The courses are designed to be fun and educational. Classes are stimulating, but no homework will be assigned or grades given.
A variety of courses were offered this year including: precision ag, arts, athletic, computers, video production, American Sign Language and more.
The kids were able to showcase projects to family and enjoy a meal Thursday night after the final class concluded.
Plans already are underway for next year’s College for Kids program. Ideas for class offerings are welcomed. Call 662-1510.
