North Dakota University System Chancellor Larry Skogen spent Wednesday afternoon discussing the future of higher education in the Lake Region.
Skogen met with faculty, staff and students at Lake Region State College today. He focused his speech on catering to the needs of future students. He says the North Dakota oil boom has brought more people into the state, which will increase the burden on the state's colleges. But he says Lake Region is moving well into the future with expansions like the new precision ag center.
"It's an exciting, exciting time to be in North Dakota. It's an exciting time to be at any one of the eleven institutions that we have, and we just need to make sure we're doing this right and we're moving forward," said Skogen.
Skogen will be in Devils Lake through Thursday when the state's board of higher education meets at Lake Region State College
