About TRiO Student Support Services
TRiO strives to increase retention and graduation rates by supporting their students through numerous methods.  Their services include exam proctoring, free professional tutoring including course specific study labs, academic and transfer advising, campus visits, technology loans, and tax and FAFSA nights.

National statistics show that students involved with TRIO are twice as likely to complete their degrees as students not involved in the program.  TRiO students at LRSC have an 84 percent retention rate, which is above the institutional average.

The TRiO Student Support Services program at Lake Region State College started in 2001.  It is the only two-year college in the North Dakota University System with a TRiO program. The TRiO SSS program at LRSC serves 160 students a year.  New applications are being accepted for the upcoming academic year.  The college has also hired a new position, Power Skills Center Coordinator, to better assist the student population.
