Commercial Driver Training Make the Right Turn for Success

Wind energy technician program
Lake Region State College's wind energy technician program officially has started.
The first class of wind turbine technicians has registered and completed a tower climb that is a pre-requisite to entering the program.

In the Word Processing event, Lisa Howard from Sheyenne took 4th place honors.
Other students from LRSC who competed were Deb Riehl and Julie Wagenman in the Business Presentation event.
Diane Karlsbraaten and Loann Nelson serve as advisors to LRSC’s Phi Beta Lamda chapter.

Phi Beta Lambda students place at nationals The Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference, Get the Edge! was held at the Hilton in Anaheim, California June 20-24, 2009. Two students from LRSC made it through the preliminaries and then competed in the finals against other colleges and universities in the United States.
In the Business Ethics event, Pam Lafrenz from Langdon and Lisa Howard from Sheyenne took 7th place honors.

Dakota Center for Technology-Optimized Ag Lake Region State College is building its center of excellence The Dakota Center for Technology-Optimized Agriculture.
Centers of Excellence allow colleges and universities to partner with private sector companies to increase educational opportunities for students and create quality jobs and careers in the community.
The center assists high plains grain growers in adopting technologies that lessen input costs and increase profitability. This center also creates spin-off technologies and additional job opportunities in the region.
