Royal’s volleyball is ready for action for the 2014 season. After finishing up a very successful 2013 season, the Royals have been itching to get back into the swing of things. Preseason practice is set to begin on August 4th at 9am. These returners will be joined by an enthusiastic, fundamentally sound freshman class including: Madison Taylor, outside hitter, Valley City, ND, Presley Paintner, setter/right side hitter, Cooperstown, ND, Lindsey Louters, middle blocker, New Rockford, ND, Dru Lunday, outside hitter/right side hitter, Devils Lake, ND, Jonie Wipf, middle blocker, Roscoe, SD, Cody Shwaluk, outside hitter, Russell, MB, Ali Joslyn, outside hitter/defensive specialist, Gillette, WY, and Renae Fafard, setter, Carlyle, SK.
The Royals finished last season 28-12 with a loss to NDSCS in the sub-regional championship. They are looking to their returners for strong leadership to bring them to a conference championship this season. The season play will begin right away August 20th with a scrimmage versus Dakota College at Bottineau. The scrimmage will begin with a meet and greet of the Royal golf and volleyball teams. It is for “Future Royals” to come and meet the athletes. The first 100 kids to come in the door receive a free t-shirt. The tailgate is free will donation. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! This scrimmage will prep the Royals for their first tournament of the season in Willmar, MN.
